Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Altrincham is looking for a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) to join the team on a fixed-term contract. You will sort mail, deliver by van and on foot in the local area, and build relationships with customers. The role involves outdoor work in all weather and weekend shifts.

Full manual UK driving licence required, ability to pass a driving assessment, and fitness for long-distance walking and lifting mail bags are essential. Training is provided and a company van is supplied.

Qualifications

• Must have a full manual UK driving licence.
• Able to pass a driving assessment for Royal Mail vehicle.
• Physically able to walk long distances and lift 10 kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable and self-motivated in a busy environment.
• Strong organisation and resilience to handle varying routes.

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area.
• Build relationships with customers and communities.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Deliver high volumes of letters and parcels with accuracy.
• Complete duties as per rotating shift and weekend requirements.
