Job summary

Royal Mail Group is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Porthmadog for a fixed-term role of 6 months. You’ll work 35 hours per week on a rotating schedule, including weekends, with shifts 09:00–16:00 and overtime available.

Salary is £13.68 per hour, paid monthly, with full training provided. Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence (max 6 penalty points) and be willing to drive a Royal Mail van and pass a driving assessment.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence with up to 6 penalty points
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van and pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and able to walk long distances, climb stairs/hills, lift 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable, self-motivated, with good organisation and resilience
• Customer-focused with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office
• Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area
• Build relationships with customers
• Work outdoors in all weathers
