Job summary

Royal Mail in Turriff is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) on a fixed term 9-month contract. You will deliver letters and parcels, work 30 hours per week across Monday to Sunday, with a rotating shift and some weekends, earning £13.68 per hour plus paid overtime. The role is outdoors and requires a full manual UK driving licence.

You’ll join a trusted network serving the local community, with training provided and a uniform and red Royal Mail van supplied.

Qualifications

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address).
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs/hills, and lifting/carrying 10kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable and self-motivated with strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment.
• Customer-focused with pride in delivering great service and comfortable working outdoors and independently.

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area.
• Build relationships with customers.
• Work outdoors in all weathers.
