Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Jedburgh seeks a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) for a 9-month fixed-term contract. You will deliver letters and parcels from Jedburgh Delivery Office, on a 30-hour week across 5 days in 6, including some weekends. Full training provided and a red Royal Mail van provided.

Salary is £13.68 per hour, paid monthly, with overtime. Rotating shifts and performance-based schedules apply. Candidate must be physically fit and willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence (max 6 penalty points)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van and pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and able to walk long distances and lift 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office
• Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area
• Build relationships with customers
