Job summary

Royal Mail Leigh Delivery Office is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) on a fixed-term contract for 6 months. The role involves sorting letters and parcels at the delivery office, delivering post by van and on foot in the local area, building relationships with customers, and working outdoors in all weathers.

You’ll work a rotating shift, 30 hours per week across 5 days in 7, including Sundays at times, with full training, a uniform, and a red Royal Mail van.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence required.
• Willingness to drive Royal Mail van daily and pass driving assessment.
• Physically fit and able to walk long distances, climb stairs/hills, and lift 10kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable and self-motivated.
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment.
• Customer-focused with pride in delivering great service.
