Job summary

Royal Mail in Birmingham is recruiting a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) on a fixed-term 6-month contract. You will deliver letters and parcels, work a 30-hour week on a rotating schedule (including Sundays at Sutton Coldfield), and drive a Royal Mail van.

You’ll receive full training, a uniform, and join an active outdoor team. The job involves walking long distances, lifting mailbags, and delivering in all weather.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence (minimum 6 penalty points)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily
• Physically fit for long walking distances and lifting 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated in a busy environment
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently

Responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office
• Deliver post by van and on foot in your local area
• Build relationships with customers
• Work outdoors in all weather
