Actemium specialise in the bespoke design and fabrication of process-related projects, working to and operating under BS EN1090 classifications. We are looking to appoint a competent TIG Pipe Welder to join our team.

Reporting directly to the Manufacturing/Works Manager, your duties will include:
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings or product specifications, including welding symbols, to determine build sequence, methods of fabrication, and assemblies.
- Layout and mark dimensions and reference information on materials.
- Completing weld set-ups and welding using TIG and orbital welding equipment.
General Responsibilities:
- Follow company rules and adhere to procedures & health and safety standards.
- Perform coded 6G TIG welding.
- Weld stainless and carbon steel tube/pipe to radiograph standards.
- Positional welding on pressure vessels, pressure parts, and superheater pipework.
- Work between workshop and site to deliver projects as required.
- Work as part of a team to produce orders on time.
- Ensure tolerances and parameters are met to satisfy quality and output.
- Prepare and process materials prior to assembly.
- Check products for compliance with specifications and quality requirements.
- Comply with established quality control procedures and documentation standards.
- Check welding plant/equipment prior to and after use, highlighting faults/defects to the Fabrication Shop Supervisor.
- Ensure production timings are met.
- Reinstate the work area following engineering activities.
The Person - Essential Experience and Skills:
- Qualifications/codings in 6G or equivalent.
- Ability to perform welding operations to radiographic standards.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Experience working on various material gauges with single and multi-run welds.
- Additional fitting experience is advantageous.
- Capable of working independently from start to project completion.
Skills:
- Weld to radiograph standards and complete pipe coding, including x-ray testing.
- Proficient with various fitting and fabrication techniques.
- Safe use of associated equipment like abrasive wheels and grinders.
- Good communication skills at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Knowledge of health & safety legislation.
- Ability to work safely with minimal supervision.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Time-served apprenticeship.
- City & Guilds Parts 1, 2 & 3 or BTEC ONC equivalent qualification.
- NVQ Level 3 in fabrication & welding / plating & welding.
