Role: Applications Engineer

Location: Actemium Automation Nottingham - Office (Ilkeston) & Home based

Hours: Full-Time, 37.5hrs per week, Flexible Hours

Salary Range: £50,000 to £60,000 (depending on experience)

Actemium Automation Nottingham are seeking a talented individual to join our dynamic team.

About the role

As a Tendering Engineer at AA Nottingham, you will play a crucial role in our project lifecycle. A customer-focused role, you will be assisting the business in creating new tenders, direct sourcing, and working collaboratively with the Project Managers.

Main Responsibilities

1. Client communication: Engage with clients during the tender process, addressing queries and ensuring clarity.
2. Cost estimation: Analyze project requirements, evaluate costs, and provide detailed estimates.
3. Technical understanding: Understand client specifications and translate them into effective technical proposals.
4. Risk assessment: Identify potential risks and propose mitigation strategies.
5. Preparing and submitting tenders: Collaborate with our sales and engineering teams to create competitive and accurate tender proposals.

The Person

1. Engineering background: degree in Electrical or related field.
2. Proven experience in tendering, preferably in automation; however, open to other engineering projects.
3. Understanding of Automation, in particular, Allen Bradley and Siemens industrial Control Systems.
4. Attention to detail: ability to analyze complex requirements and create precise proposals.
5. Good communication and interpersonal skills with a willingness to take on new skills & knowledge.
