Role: Software Controls Engineer – Water Sector

Location: Waterlooville, Hampshire
Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours/week, flexible working)
Salary: £40,000 – £52,000 (dependent on experience)

Reporting to the Sector Project Manager, your role will involve supporting and delivering automation projects for the company’s key accounts.

️ Your day-to-day will include:

1. Designing and modifying PLC, HMI, and SCADA software to meet customer specifications and industry standards.
2. Advising customers on automation solutions and best practices for control system architecture.
3. Conducting site surveys and assisting in the preparation of project quotations (engineering time & materials).
4. Working on-site regularly, with significant client-facing responsibilities.

What you bring

• Proven experience with PLCs, SCADA, and HMIs from major OEMs including Rockwell, Schneider, Mitsubishi, Beijer, and Aveva Wonderware.
• Strong knowledge of industrial network setup, commissioning, and fault finding.
• The ability to read and interpret industrial electrical schematics.
• Awareness of UK water industry standards and practices.
