Job summary

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington is seeking a Peer Specialist to deliver Assertive Community Treatment services and support ACT teams in delivering highly individualized care in the community.

You will teach ADLs, provide one-on-one support, coordinate benefits, and facilitate peer groups while documenting services and attending regular supervision to ensure quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Peer training program and active Peer Specialist certification from the DC Department of Behavioral Health (DBH).
• 2 years’ experience working in a social services environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide ACT services to consumers.
• Teach ADLs including personal hygiene, grooming, housekeeping and cooking.
• Provide one-on-one office and community-based support for ACT consumers; weekly meetings for six months.
• Travel to appointments; support consumers in stressful situations; teach coping and integration skills.
• Assist with Medicaid, Social Security, housing and other benefits; facilitate family connections and peer support groups.
• Maintain productivity and document all services; review progress notes weekly.
• Attend supervisory sessions and clinical rounds; participate in team health goals.
