Job summary

Affinity Water is seeking Acoustic Logging Technicians to locate water main fittings across the network, deploy and collect acoustic loggers, and use noise analysis to record leaks.

This entry‑level role includes full training, requires outdoor work in all weather, a full UK driving licence, reliability and teamwork, and flexible hours including occasional night shifts. A company van and development opportunities are provided.

Responsibilities

• Locate water main fittings across the network.
• Deploy and collect acoustic loggers daily.
• Record and analyse noise samples using detection equipment.
• Document activities accurately using company systems.
• Meet targets, including 80 loggers per day.
• Follow health, safety and environmental procedures.
• Handle equipment safely, including lifting manhole covers.

• Locating water main fittings across the network
• Deploying and collecting acoustic logging devices
• Using electronic leak detection equipment to record and analyse noise samples
• Accurately documenting activities using company systems and processes
• Meeting operational targets, including the deployment and collection of a minimum of 80 loggers per day
• Following all health, safety and environmental procedures
• Safely handling equipment, including lifting and replacing manhole covers
