Description
Business Solutions is a department within the HW Fisher organisation providing a “one-stop shop” for SMEs and owner managed businesses, as well as individuals, including personal and corporate tax, accounting, and VAT functions. The department looks after a range of clients in various sectors, though there is a particular interest within the authors and journalists and sports sectors.
Our Sports Group sits within the Business Solutions department, which deals with a wide variety of individuals within the sports sector, and is a growing area within our organisation.
We are looking for an ACCA qualified individual to work primarily within the Sports Group within the Business Solutions department, focusing on accounts work for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the role are varied and will include the following:
- Reviewing limited company accounts
- Reviewing partnership accounts
- Reviewing VAT returns
- Communicating and corresponding with clients
- Reviewing P11D’s
- Assisting with company secretarial matters
- Assisting in the billing of clients
- Attendance at networking events
- Liaising with specialist departments in the Firm
- Other ad hoc duties in line with the role
The Candidate
We require a qualified ACCA accountant with at least four years’ experience within a practice environment. The successful candidate should ideally have prior experience within a firm that specialises in clients from the media sector and have an interest in working with predominantly sports clients. We also require the following qualities and skills:
- Excellent organisational skills
- The ability to work independently and be able to take responsibility for own work
- Excellent attention to detail
- The ability to work calmly under pressure and be able to prioritise own time
- A good knowledge of limited company accounts and the issues affecting small limited companies
- Good knowledge of QBO and Xero
- Knowledge of PAYE regulations
- Good knowledge of FRS102 1A
As well as the above we also expect the suitable candidate to have a good understanding of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word packages. It would be desirable for the candidate to have knowledge/experience of AP accounting software as well as ProAudit, although training will be provided where necessary.
