As an Accounts Senior in Newport within the professional services industry, you'll be handling a variety of accounting tasks to ensure smooth financial operations for clients. This role is all about supporting the team, working closely with directors, and helping clients manage their financial requirements effectively.
Our client is an established independent accountancy practice based in Cwmbran, supporting businesses across Wales and the South West. The firm has a particular passion for working with small businesses and combines professional accountancy expertise with a highly personal approach to client service.
The practice combines traditional client relationships with modern cloud accounting technology and works with platforms including Sage, Xero and QuickBooks. This creates an excellent environment for an experienced practice accountant who enjoys getting to know their clients and wants to develop beyond pure accounts preparation into broader client management responsibilities
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accounts Senior who is ready to take the next step within accountancy practice.
You will join a friendly and established team, working with a varied portfolio including small limited companies, sole traders and partnerships. The position offers plenty of hands-on accounts and tax work while providing the opportunity to develop your client management capabilities.
Importantly, this is not intended to be a static Accounts Senior position. The firm is looking for somebody with the ambition and capability to progress towards Client Manager over the next few years.
Working closely with the firm's Directors, you will initially provide support across an established client portfolio while gaining greater exposure to client relationships, problem solving and portfolio management. As your experience develops, the intention is for you to take increasing ownership and ultimately manage a portfolio of your own.
This opportunity would suit an experienced accountancy practice professional with a strong grounding in accounts preparation and tax compliance.
You may already be working as an Accounts Senior or in a similar general practice position and be looking for a firm where there is genuine scope to progress.
You will ideally have:
ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualifications would be welcomed, although the firm is flexible. Fully qualified, part-qualified, almost-qualified and experienced QBE candidates will all be considered.
Above all, practical accountancy practice experience, technical capability and the desire to progress are the priorities.
