Job summary

Michael Page is seeking an ambitious Accounts Senior to join a well-established independent accountancy practice in Nantwich. You will manage a varied client portfolio and deliver high-quality accounting services, working closely with managers and partners to build strong client relationships across sectors.

Key responsibilities include statutory accounts prep, management accounts, tax compliance, and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Experience working in an accountancy practice environment.
• AAT qualification or studying towards ACA/ACCA.
• Strong accounts preparation experience.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Organised and able to manage multiple deadlines.
• Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero, Sage or QuickBooks.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.
• Preparing management accounts and financial reports.
• Corporation tax and personal tax compliance work.
• Reviewing bookkeeping and VAT returns.
• Acting as a key point of contact for clients.
• Supporting and mentoring junior team members.
• Assisting with client meetings and advisory projects.

As an Accounts Senior, you will be responsible for managing a varied client portfolio and delivering high-quality accounting services. You will work closely with managers and partners while building strong relationships with clients across a range of sectors.

Profile

A successful Accounts Senior:

• Has experience working within an accountancy practice environment
• Is AAT qualified, ACA/ACCA qualified or studying towards qualification
• Has strong accounts preparation experience
• Possesses excellent communication and client-facing skills
• Is organised, proactive and able to manage multiple deadlines
• Has experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero, Sage or QuickBooks
