Job summary

Eaton Syalon Ltd in North Derbyshire seeks an experienced Practice Accountant / Accounts Senior to join a small, owner-managed practice. The role offers a 35-hour week with flexibility for four days if desired and involves ownership of a varied workload across accounts prep, tax and client support.

You should have a solid foundation in practice, with experience in accounts for sole traders and Ltd companies, and be comfortable with self-assessment tax, VAT and year-end work.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounts preparation for sole traders and limited companies.
• Self-assessment tax returns, VAT and year-end accounts experience.
• Proficient with Xero; Sage/QuickBooks knowledge helpful.

Responsibilities

• Prepare year-end accounts for sole traders and limited companies.
• Prepare self-assessment tax returns and tax computations.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns.
• Manage own portfolio and meet deadlines.
• Liaise with clients and gather information.
• Support colleagues in a small team.
