Job summary

Menzies LLP is seeking an Accounts Senior to join our Outsourced Accounting Services team in the Woking office (with London option). You will lead client work across the full finance function from transactional processing to management accounts and statutory reporting, while mentoring junior colleagues and strengthening SAP delivery.

You'll bring at least 2 years in accounting, experience using SAP, strong Excel skills and a proactive, collaborative approach.

Qualifications

• Ideally AAT Level 4 qualified (or equivalent).
• Working towards, or already qualified in, a Level 7 professional qualification such as ACA or ACCA.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality management accounts and oversee clients' day-to-day accounting activities as a trusted extension of their finance team.
• Support the full finance function, maintain accounting records, prepare working papers, and complete month-end adjustments, with SAP focus.
• Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with latest legislation.
• Build strong client relationships with Partners and colleagues, providing a professional advisory-led service.
• Coach and mentor junior colleagues to support their development and maintain high standards.

We have a great opportunity for an Accounts Senior to join our Outsourced Accounting Services team in the Woking or London office.

Play a key role in strengthening Menzies' SAP capability by delivering expert outsourced accounting and advisory services to a diverse client base. You’ll support clients across the full finance function, from transactional accounting to management accounts and statutory reporting, while sharing your expertise, mentoring junior team members and helping our team continue to grow.

Key Responsibilities

Here's what you'll be doing:

• Deliver high-quality management accounts - Prepare accurate and insightful management accounts while overseeing clients' day-to-day accounting activities and becoming a trusted extension of their finance team.
• Support the full finance function - Maintain accounting records, prepare working papers and complete month-end adjustments, with a particular focus on supporting clients who use SAP.
• Prepare VAT returns - Apply your technical knowledge to produce accurate VAT returns and ensure compliance with the latest legislation.
• Build trusted client relationships - Develop strong relationships with clients, Partners and colleagues, providing a responsive, professional and advisory-led service.
• Support and develop others - Share your knowledge by coaching and mentoring junior team members, helping them grow while maintaining high standards of quality and delivery.
• Work collaboratively across Menzies - Partner with colleagues across service lines to deliver seamless, joined-up solutions that add real value for our clients.
• Prepare statutory financial statements - Support clients through the year-end process by preparing high-quality statutory accounts and ensuring deadlines are met.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

What We're Looking For:

Qualifications

• Ideally AAT Level 4 qualified (or equivalent).
• Working towards, or already qualified in, a Level 7 professional qualification such as ACA or ACCA.

Skills & Knowledge

• Experience using SAP, including processing transactions and ideally producing reports.
• Strong Excel skills, with the ability to analyse and interpret financial data.
• A solid understanding of accounting principles and the ability to apply technical knowledge to real client situations.
• Confident working independently while also contributing as part of a collaborative team.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels.
• A keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work.

Experience

• At least 2 years' experience working within a finance or accounting environment.
• A minimum of 12 months' experience using SAP in a finance or accounting role.
• Experience working collaboratively within a team to deliver client assignments.
• Experience preparing statutory accounts would be advantageous but isn't essential.
• German language skills would be beneficial but are by no means essential.

Travel

• A willingness to travel occasionally to other Menzies offices and client sites when required.
