Job summary

Clark Wood is recruiting an Accounts Senior for its Watford team. The role offers responsibility for year-end accounts, bookkeeping, VAT and personal tax across a varied client portfolio, with excellent progression opportunities.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in practice, strong Xero experience, and exposure to personal tax work. AAT/ACCA qualification or ongoing studies are advantageous but not essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' accountancy practice experience.
• Strong Xero experience.
• Experience preparing year-end accounts.
• Some Personal Tax / Self-Assessment exposure.
• Good communication and client-facing skills.
• AAT/ACCA qualified or studying would be beneficial but isn't essential.

Responsibilities

Clark Wood is working with a growing and supportive accountancy practice in Watford looking for an Accounts Senior to join their team.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Accounts Semi-Senior ready to step up, or an existing Senior looking for a varied role with greater client responsibility and long-term progression.

You’ll work across year-end accounts, bookkeeping, VAT and personal tax for a varied portfolio of clients.

The Role

• Prepare year-end accounts
• Manage bookkeeping assignments using Xero
• Prepare and submit VAT returnsAssist with personal tax returns and basic computations
• Liaise directly with clients
• Manage your own workload and assignments
• Support junior members of the team

What We're Looking For

• Around 3+ years' accountancy practice experience
• Strong Xero experience
