Puro Associates in North Shields is seeking an Accounts Senior to join a well-established practice. You will work across accounts, tax and bookkeeping for a varied portfolio of clients and hit the ground running.

The role offers a salary of £30,000–£38,000, initial office-based with hybrid working after settling in, and a clear path for progression within the firm.

THE ROLE

Are you an experienced Accounts Senior looking for your next move with a well-established accountancy practice? We’re working with a highly reputable independent accountancy firm in North Shields who are looking to appoint a confident and well-rounded Accounts Senior to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong practice background who can hit the ground running and is looking for genuine long-term progression. You’ll work across accounts, tax and bookkeeping for a varied portfolio of clients, gaining broad exposure and the opportunity to take on more responsibility as you develop. The ideal candidate will have a solid track record with reputable accountancy firms, strong practical experience and previous experience using both Sage and Xero. You’ll be responsible for a varied practice workload, including:

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a well-rounded practice accountant who can come in and make an immediate impact. Ideally, you’ll have:

• Previous experience working within an accountancy practice
• A strong track record with reputable accountancy firms
• Solid experience preparing annual accounts
• Experience across personal and corporate tax
• Previous bookkeeping experience
• Strong practical knowledge of Sage and Xero
• The ability to manage your own workload and work with minimal supervision
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• A proactive approach and the ability to hit the ground running
• The ambition to progress and develop within a growing practice

Relevant qualifications such as AAT, ACA or ACCA would be advantageous, but strong practical experience and a proven practice background are key.
