Job summary

MHA is looking for an Accounts Semi Senior in Peterborough with a hybrid working model. You will prepare financial statements, manage client relationships, and navigate accounting challenges, contributing to a dynamic environment.

The ideal candidate will have AAT qualification or be studying towards ACCA/ACA, strong double-entry skills, and familiarity with cloud-based systems like Xero and QuickBooks. Competitive salary and excellent benefits offered.

Qualifications

• At least two to three years’ experience within an accountancy practice environment.
• Strong practical knowledge/experience of accounts preparation.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements in accordance with relevant standards.
• Prepare accounting schedules to support balances and transactions.
• Work on a wide range of accounts including FRS102 and consolidations.

Skills

AAT Qualified or studying towards ACCA, or ACA

Strong practical knowledge/experience of accounts preparation

Strong double entry knowledge and skill

Cloud based accounting systems knowledge (Xero, QuickBooks)

Strong IT skills (Word, Outlook, Excel, intermediate level)

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

Basic tax knowledge

Organisational / time management skills

Confident interaction with clients

Methodical and logical thinking

Use initiative to identify problems

Ability to operate to strict deadlines
