Semi-Senior - Accounts and Business Services

Monday-Friday, 35-hour week (Flexitime)

Day to Day Responsibilities include but not limited to:

The role of a Semi-Senior Accountant within our Advanced Business Services team is to ensure the accurate preparation of accounts work in accordance with budget timelines and accounting standards. This includes taxation and financial requirements as directed, building strong relationships with clients and the team, and providing advice on accounting matters.

  • Preparation of Financial Statements: Prepare financial statements, interpret data accurately, and take ownership of the preparation process.
  • Accounts Compliance: Ensure accounts are compiled in accordance with accounting standards (FRS105 & 102).
  • Preparation of Management Accounts: Prepare management accounts.
  • VAT Compliance: Prepare VAT returns. Be familiar with VAT legislation.
  • Effective Deadline Management: Proactively manage deadlines for your tasks to ensure work is completed on time.
  • Budgeting: Maintain accountability for your budgets on tasks.
  • Mentoring: Mentor juniors on jobs, ensuring they are supported as they start their career journey.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills required
  • Studying towards ACA/CA/ACCA, ICAS, or an equivalent internationally recognized professional accounting qualification.
  • 1-2 years relevant UK work experience with a reputable accountancy practice.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting standards, techniques, and best practices.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and client relationship management skills with a collaborative approach.
