Position:
FTE Salary: £27,000 - £30,000 - pro-rata
Hours: Part time - 22.5 hours a week flexible to work for you e.g. 3 days a week or 5 shorter working days

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive part-time Accounts and Payroll Assistant to join our dynamic shared services finance team. In this remote based role you'll play a key part in Sage 50 Accounts and Sage Payroll support, whilst managing day-to-day financial and administrative tasks in a busy and supportive payroll and accounts environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records using Sage 50 Accounts
- Provide holiday cover for weekly/monthly payroll using Sage Payroll, including RTI submissions and pension uploads
- Perform regular bank reconciliations, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded and discrepancies investigated and resolved promptly
- Assist with credit control, including issuing statements, following up overdue accounts, liaising with clients to resolve queries, and escalating outstanding debts where necessary
- Help to maintain our payroll system with appropriate controls for it to run efficiently, comply with statutory requirements and meet stakeholder expectations
- Accountable for updating and maintaining accurate and current data, sourced from the HR management system and the People Team
- Resolve payroll queries from colleagues, management or external stakeholders in a timely manner
- Ensure that robust audit-related records are maintained for submission to external auditors as required
Requirements:
What we need from you:
- CIPP qualification or equivalent experience
- IT literate, particularly in Microsoft office, with intermediate Excel skills
- Experience of managing a payroll and expenses process
- Confident using SAGE payroll / SAGE 50 software
- Knowledge of legalisation relating to payroll
- Knowledge of GDPR and legislation protection
- Experience at working in a dynamic finance team
- IT competent with advanced MS Office skills including Teams, Excel, Word and Outlook
- Flexible with the ability to travel nationally and commit to potential overnight stays as required
