Job overview

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Accounts Payable Supervisor to join our dedicated finance team. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, proactive, possess excellent communication skills, and be capable of supervising and supporting the accounts payable department in completing daily and monthly tasks.

Main duties of the job

This role involves working in a complex, dynamic environment, supporting key functions within the Financial Services department, including monitoring team performance, executing weekly payments, and preparing working papers for the annual accounts.

Person specification

Qualifications

• Good general education including English and Maths
• Evidence of continued professional development to degree level or equivalent experience
• AAT technician level or equivalent knowledge
• Specialist knowledge in purchase ledger and financial systems, ideally to CCAB certificate/degree level

Desirable qualifications

• ECDL or alternative IT qualification
• AAT Qualified

Experience

• Minimum 2 years managing sales or purchase ledger sections in a large organization
• Experience supervising staff

Desirable experience

• 3+ years including management of purchase ledger
• Experience within NHS or public sector finance
• Staff management experience
