Job summary

Keystone Group's Head Office in Cookstown is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join the Finance team. You will support budgeting, cash flow management, and reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance across UK operations.

The role includes supplier invoicing, payment runs, VAT/Intrastat returns, asset management, and occasional AR cover. Travel between sites may be required; UK driving licence essential.

Qualifications

  • Part qualified Accountant studying with CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent.
  • Ability to prioritise and multi-task while maintaining accuracy.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Assist with data gathering for sustainability reporting.
  • Monitor daily cash flow and manage payment runs.
  • Process supplier invoices and maintain the purchase ledger.
  • Manage the employee expenses policy and claims.
  • Assist with UK VAT, Intrastat and statutory year-end returns; support audits.
  • Manage Fixed Assets Register and intercompany recharges.
  • Cover Accounts Receivable during peaks and support finance projects.
  • Be prepared to travel between sites and support process improvements.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting various financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our reporting and compliance processes.

About The Role

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting various financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our reporting and compliance processes.

What You’ll Be Doing
Financial Reporting & Analysis
  • Contribute to the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Assist with data gathering and analysis for our sustainability reporting
Treasury & Payables Management
  • Monitor and manage daily cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operations.
  • Processing supplier invoices and maintaining accurate purchase ledger records
  • Prepare weekly and monthly supplier payment runs.
  • Manage the company's employee expenses policy and claims, ensuring adherence and timely processing.
  • Participation in monthly team meetings and preparation of power point presentations.
Compliance & Statutory Returns
  • Preparation of UK and ROI VAT returns.
  • Review and submit Intrastat / EC Sales returns.
  • Assist with the preparation of statutory year-end financial statements and support audit processes, liaising with external auditors.
Asset & Intercompany Management
  • Manage the company's Fixed Assets Register.
  • Ensure all intercompany recharges are processed accurately and on time.
Operational Support & Improvement
  • Assist with managing the day-to-day operations of the accounting function, liaising effectively with other finance sub-departments.
  • Provide cover and support to Accounts Receivable teams during holiday periods or peak times.
  • Participate in projects designed to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the Finance function.
  • Undertake any other ad hoc duties as required to support the Finance department and wider business operations.
  • Be prepared to travel to and between sites as necessary to fulfil the requirements of the post and meet project deadlines.
  • Ensure a flexible approach to working hours to fulfil the requirements of the post and meet project deadlines

What We’re Looking For
  • Part qualified Accountant studying with either CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels with both financial and non-financial people.
  • Excellent people management skills with the ability to manage remote teams
  • Unquestionable professional ethics and integrity
  • Ability to proactively resolve day-to-day operational issues and to effect process improvements
  • Excellent IT skills (including Microsoft Excel)
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Full UK driving licence
