Job summary

DWF in Manchester is seeking a capable finance leader to own and develop the Accounts Payable and Disbursements functions. You will drive day-to-day operations, ensure timely invoices and payments, and mentor the team in a fast-growing environment.

Hybrid working is offered with three days in the office and two days remote. The role requires strong change management, stakeholder engagement and a focus on automation and process improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience managing, developing and motivating a finance or transactional team.
• Resource planning skills to balance workloads.
• Experience leading teams through change or process improvement.
• Problem-solving with root cause analysis and automation focus.
• Excellent stakeholder management and business partnering skills.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders, fee earners and budget holders.
• Knowledge of supplier reconciliations, payment runs and purchase-to-pay.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operation of the Accounts Payable and Disbursements teams.
• Ensure invoices, payments and reconciliations meet SLAs.
• Support performance and development of team members.
• Oversee supplier statement reconciliations and weekly payment runs.
• Identify opportunities to automate processes and support system changes.
• Assist with annual audit as required.
