Accounts Payable Assistant Manager

We are recruiting an Assistant Accounts Payable Manager to join our Liverpool team.

This role involves managing an efficient and accurate Accounts Payable function within the Finance Shared Services. The role ensures timely payments to suppliers, maximizes working capital, and maintains effective communication with internal and external stakeholders. It is crucial for maintaining accurate creditors ledgers and timely supplier communication.

Responsibilities
  • Managing creditors of disbursements
  • Ensuring timely processing of transactions
  • Overseeing supplier statement reconciliations
  • Allocating work within the team and being the first point of contact
  • Collaborating with relevant departments to review and improve processes
  • Approving annual leave in line with company policy
  • Managing absences and AWOL cases
  • Ensuring mandatory training is completed by all team members
  • Reviewing and managing payment runs
  • Reviewing team work for accuracy
  • Taking accountability for personal and team responsibilities
  • Ensuring compliance with SRA and audit standards
  • Performing ad hoc duties as assigned by the Manager or Head of Transactions
  • Completing End of Year PDRs and mid-year reviews
  • Conducting probation reviews
About you
  • Excellent Excel and reporting skills
  • Experience in accounts
  • Ability to share information appropriately while maintaining confidentiality
  • Ability to set realistic deadlines and develop contingency plans
