ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Assistant for a 12 month FTC maternity cover to help support the day-to-day operations and ensure the accurate and timely processing of invoices, managing expense processes, maintaining accounting records, and assisting in providing essential financial information to the relevant persons.

Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, this is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast paced, strong growth environment with a great team culture and excellent benefits.

WHAT YOU’RE HERE TO DO

Your key responsibilities are;

  • End to end processing of supplier invoices through Yooz and SageX3 accounting software
  • Take ownership of preparation of weekly payment runs across multiple currencies and banks
  • Assist with invoice and payment queries across different functions and departments within the company
  • Engaging with suppliers on an ongoing basis and reconciling supplier/vendor accounts
  • Ensure AP ledgers are kept up to date with weekly reconciliations of payments, investigating any discrepancies
  • Provide insights into weekly and monthly aged creditors
  • Effective collaboration with finance team and wider business. The AP assistant should be comfortable working with, and challenging where necessary, the wider business to ensure correct AP processes are followed
  • Manage all AP communication, including the AP inboxes, ensuring timely responses to all internal and external stakeholders on all AP matters
  • Manage company credit cards ensuring correct coding and reconciliation to direct debit payments
  • Manage the expenses process, ensuring timely payment and reconciliation
  • Responsible for ensuring correct AP process are followed, including identifying improvements to AP processes and controls where needed and escalating to the Group Finance Manager

Undertake any other task, deemed to be appropriate to this role, as directed by a member of the Management Team or Board.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The Accounts Payable Assistant is expected to have the following skills and knowledge:

  • Minimum 2-3 years experience in accounts payable
  • Proactive approach to working and desire to learn
  • Experience in SageX3 strongly preferred
  • Experience working in a fast-paced FMCG, consumer goods, retail, cosmetics business
  • An intermediate level of Microsoft Excel (vlookups and pivot tables)
