Job summary

Michael Page is seeking an Account Manager based in Melksham to support the accounting and finance team in delivering accurate, timely services for clients across the professional services sector. You will ensure client accounts are up to date and respond to queries with professionalism.

Key duties include managing client accounts, preparing VAT returns, bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, payroll-related records, and producing financial statements.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounting or finance-related roles.
• Experience acting as a key point of contact for clients
• AAT, ACCA or equivalent accounting qualification/experience
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in relevant accounting software.
• Solid understanding of professional services and client management.

Responsibilities

• Manage client accounts and ensure financial records are accurate and up to date.
• Preparing and reviewing VAT returns and supporting HMRC compliance requirements.
• Assisting with bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, and ledger maintenance
• Supporting payroll processing and maintaining payroll-related records where required.
• Prepare and review financial statements and reports.
• Provide clients with advice on accounting and finance matters.
• Handle queries and resolve issues related to client accounts.
• Collaborate with the team to meet deadlines and maintain compliance standards.
• Monitor account performance and suggest improvements where needed.
• Ensure all documentation is completed and filed properly.
