Job summary

Trial Balance Consulting in Melksham is seeking an experienced Client Bookkeeper to join a well-regarded Wiltshire practice. You will maintain accurate bookkeeping records for a varied portfolio, perform bank reconciliations and prepare VAT returns, ensuring accounts stay up to date.

You will work directly with clients, manage your own workload with a keen eye for detail, and contribute to ongoing process improvements within a supportive, experienced team.

Trial Balance are delighted to be working with a well-established accountancy practice with a strong presence across Wiltshire, looking to recruit an experienced Client Bookkeeper to join their Melksham office. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working directly with clients and taking responsibility for keeping their financial records accurate, organised and up to date.

As Client Bookkeeper, your responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining accurate bookkeeping records for a varied portfolio of clients
• Completing bank reconciliations and ensuring client accounts remain up to date
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns
• Supporting clients with their day-to-day accounting requirements
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes and make clients' accounting systems as efficient as possible

The successful Client Bookkeeper will:

Have previous bookkeeping experience gained within an accountancy practice.

You'll be confident managing your own workload, comfortable dealing directly with clients and have a strong eye for detail. Experience with cloud accounting software would be advantageous, alongside a good understanding of general bookkeeping principles.
