Job summary

Pro Talent in Brighton is seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to take the accounts side day to day, manage a portfolio of owner‑managed clients, and work directly with the directors. You will review accounts, tax and VAT, and develop junior staff while improving processes and Xero rollout.

The role offers genuine autonomy, a hybrid and flexible working pattern, and a clear path toward director level progression for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualified with three years+ post-qualified in practice.
• Experience reviewing accounts, corporation tax and VAT for owner-managed clients.

A portfolio to run properly, and a route to director if you want it.

An independent firm of chartered accountants in Brighton is looking for an Accounts Manager. This one is about ownership. Your own portfolio, your own review, your own client relationships, and a direct line to the directors.

The firm has been going a very long time and has the client base to show for it. Low turnover, stable team, no restructure looming. What they need is someone to take proper weight off the directors and run the accounts side day to day.

The role

• Managing a portfolio of owner-managed clients from planning to sign-off
• Reviewing accounts, corporation tax and VAT prepared by the team
• Meeting clients to talk through results, tax and planning points
• Managing workflow, WIP, billing and recoverability
• Developing the trainees and seniors below you
• Working with the directors on process and further Xero rollout
