Job summary

ProTalent Limited is recruiting an Accounts Senior/Portfolio Manager in Brighton to manage a mixed portfolio of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies from end to end. You’ll prepare year-end accounts and corporation/personal tax returns, while acting as the primary client contact in person, on the phone and via email.

You’ll work with tax, audit and payroll teams, spotting opportunities to improve client outcomes and delivering joined-up advice within a supportive, specialist practice.

Qualifications

• Newly qualified ACA or ACCA, or qualified by experience with a solid practice background.
• Confident with Xero and QuickBooks.
• Up to date with changes to accounting and tax legislation.
• Habit of getting back to clients promptly.
• Organised, efficient and happy to muck in as part of the team.

Responsibilities

• Run your own portfolio of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies from start to finish.

Most portfolio roles hand you whatever nobody else wanted. This one is different.

An established independent practice in Brighton is looking for an Accounts Senior/Portfolio Manager to take on a mixed portfolio of long-standing, loyal clients. These relationships have been built up over years by one of the directors. They'll introduce you properly and support the handover, so you won't be picking up a portfolio cold.

The firm covers accounts, tax, audit, VAT, payroll, private client and corporate finance. That means there's real specialist knowledge in-house when a tricky question lands on your desk. It's still small enough that you'll know the founder, the team and your clients by name.

What you'll be doing

• Running your own portfolio of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies from start to finish
• Preparing and reviewing year-end accounts, corporation tax and personal tax returns
• Being the go-to contact for your clients in person, on the phone and by email
• Spotting where clients could be doing things better and raising it with them
• Working with the tax, audit and payroll teams so clients get joined-up advice
