Job summary

Clark Wood are working with a well-established firm of chartered accountants in Shrewsbury to recruit an Audit & Accounts Senior to join their growing team. You will lead statutory accounts preparation and review, manage tax compliance assignments and oversee audits from planning through to completion, while developing strong client relationships and mentoring junior staff.

ACA/ACCA qualified or nearing qualification (QBE considered) is preferred, with a competitive salary and clear progression

Qualifications

• ACCA/ACCA qualified or nearing qualification (QBE will be considered).
• Proven experience in mixed audit and accounts within practice.
• Strong technical knowledge across accounts and audit.
• Confident communicator with client relationship skills.

The Role

• Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts
• Managing tax compliance assignments
• Leading audit assignments from planning through to completion
• Supervising audit fieldwork and ensuring assignments are delivered efficiently
• Preparing audit planning documentation and completing risk assessments
• Contributing to audit strategy discussions and fraud considerations
• Managing client relationships and acting as a key point of contact
• Reviewing work and supporting junior team members
• Providing high-quality accounting and audit advice to clients

About You

• ACA / ACCA Qualified or nearing qualification (QBE will also be considered DOE)
• Previous experience in a mixed audit and accounts role within an accountancy practice
• Strong technical knowledge across accounts and audit
• Confident communicator with strong client relationship skills
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Proactive approach with a desire to progress within a leading regional practice
