Job summary

ProTalent is assisting a growing practice in Penzance, Cornwall to appoint an Accounts and Audit Semi-Senior. You will work alongside managers and partners across the full range of practice work, with a mix of accounts preparation and genuine audit exposure, plus VAT, bookkeeping and tax duties.

This role offers a broad grounding without moving into management, with clients including sole traders, partnerships, and not-for-profit organisations.

Qualifications

• Experience in accountancy practice with strong accounts and bookkeeping knowledge.
• Familiarity with Xero, Sage and QuickBooks is preferred.
• AAT qualification or ACA/ACCA studies pursued is ideal.

Responsibilities

• Preparing statutory and management accounts for a variety of clients.
• Working on audits, including planning, fieldwork and completion.
• Preparing VAT returns and assisting with MTD compliance.
• Handling self-assessment computations and tax support.
• Managing Companies House filings and other statutory duties.
• Providing client support, including on-site visits when needed.
