Job summary

Howett-Thorpe Recruitment Consultants Limited is seeking an Accounts & Audit Apprentice to start a career in accountancy while gaining practical experience from day one. You will study towards AAT as part of a structured Level 4 apprenticeship, with the opportunity to progress onto ACA.

You will combine your AAT studies with practical experience across both accounts and audit, learning how different businesses operate and how services are delivered to clients.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of statutory accounts.
• Support audit assignments and complete basic audit testing.

• Assist with day-to-day client queries.
• Develop understanding of accounting standards and audit procedures.
• Work closely with senior team members.
• Take on additional responsibilities as experience develops.

Accounts & Audit Apprentice - About The Role

You will combine your AAT studies with practical experience across both accounts and audit. Working alongside experienced members of the team, you will gain an understanding of how different types of businesses operate and how accountancy services are delivered to clients.

The role will give you a broad introduction to practice, with your responsibilities increasing as you develop your technical knowledge and confidence. Key responsibilities:
