Accounts Associate

Location: Shrewsbury

Salary: £24,000 - £28,000 + Study Support + Benefits

Type: Full Time, Permanent

Work Arrangement: Ideally 80% office-based, open to hybrid

Role:

As the Accounts Associate, you will be an integral part of the Accounts & Business Advisory Services team, working closely with experienced professionals and mentors to develop your practical skills and client service capabilities. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting in preparing annual statutory accounts for a diverse portfolio of clients.
• Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting daily accounting activities.
• Liaising with clients and HMRC, gaining broad exposure across the practice.
• Beginning to advise on best practices, with opportunities to develop technical knowledge.

Requirements:

Candidates should have at least 1 year of accounts experience within an accountancy practice environment. Additionally, you should have:

• A finance or accounts-related qualification
• Proactive, enthusiastic, and eager to learn
• Proficiency in IT and experience with accounting software
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
• Excellent organizational skills
• Either studying towards AAT or planning to start the qualification (full support provided)
• Ideally based near Shrewsbury
