Job summary

Interaction Recruitment is seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant for a growing accountancy practice in Stevenage. You will work across bookkeeping, VAT, payroll, year-end accounts and personal tax, supporting the Practice Director and a varied portfolio of clients.

This full-time role offers training and development, AML checks, onboarding of new clients, and opportunities to take on greater responsibility as the practice grows. AAT qualification or study is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience in accountancy practice or similar role.
• Proficient in bookkeeping and VAT returns.
• Experience with year-end accounts and Self Assessment is beneficial.
• Good Excel skills and numerical accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare year-end accounts for sole traders and limited companies.
• Prepare personal Self Assessment tax returns.
• Assist with VAT returns and Making Tax Digital requirements.
• Support with payroll and general accounts work.
• Liaise with clients to resolve queries and gather information.
