Job summary

ICW Group (UK) is seeking an Accounts Assistant/Accounts Technician to support the Finance team in delivering accurate financial information across the Group. You will help with reconciliations, ledgers, month-end tasks and management accounts preparation.

The role emphasizes accuracy, accountability and continuous improvement, with opportunities to develop knowledge across multiple entities and systems within a collaborative finance team.

Qualifications

• Experience working in an Accounts Assistant, Accounts Technician, Bookkeeper or similar finance role.
• Sound understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial processes.
• Experience completing reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and confidence using accounting software.
• Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines.
• Strong organisational skills and a methodical approach to work.
• Good communication skills and ability to build positive working relationships.
• Ability to work independently while contributing as part of a team.
• Experience using Sage or similar accounting system.
• Experience supporting multiple entities or group companies.
• Experience assisting with management accounts and VAT returns.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular bank reconciliations, ensuring transactions are recorded and discrepancies are resolved.
• Maintain customer and supplier ledgers with accuracy and up-to-date records.
• Assist with monthly management accounts preparation, including P&L analysis.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and address issues promptly.
• Prepare VAT returns for review with accuracy.
• Maintain fixed asset registers including additions, disposals and depreciation.
• Process and monitor financial transactions across group entities in the UK and Ireland.
• Support month-end processes to meet reporting deadlines.
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation per procedures.
• Assist with finance administration and other departmental tasks.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve accuracy and efficiency.
