Job summary

Unknown Client is seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their finance team. The role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records across three trading companies, handling day-to-day transactions, and ensuring policy compliance.

The successful candidate will support bank reconciliations, intercompany activity, and month-end close, while preparing journals and reports for the Financial Director. VAT filings and cash flow forecasting are also key aspects.

Qualifications

• CAT qualified or working towards a recognised accounting qualification.
• Experience across multiple trading companies or group structures.
• Strong knowledge of reconciliations, financial reporting, and VAT.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records for three active trading companies and ensure compliance.
• Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations, resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely supplier payments and accurate invoicing.
• Prepare and post journals for accruals, prepayments, and other adjustments.
• Manage intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and currency transfers.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes and provide management accounts.
• Assist with VAT and statutory filings, liaising with external advisors as necessary.
• Monitor cash flow and provide forecasts to support planning.
