Job summary

Hatzfeld Care Ltd Newark-on-Trent is seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join the busy Finance Department on a fixed-term maternity cover. You will help manage purchase and sales ledgers, month-end reporting and general finance administration.

The role suits someone proactive with strong numerical skills, Excel proficiency and attention to detail. Monday–Friday, office-based with a competitive salary from £29,000, dependent on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an accounts or finance department.
• Experience with financial transactions, reconciliations and maintaining records.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritise workloads, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase orders and supplier invoices; reconcile costs.
• Record petty cash and reconcile monthly statements.
• Process customer recharges and maintain the sales ledger.
• Prepare month-end reports for management accounts.
• Maintain accurate financial records and undertake general admin duties.
• Support colleagues across the department with ad hoc reporting.
