Job summary

Chevron Recruitment is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join its Finance team in Takeley, Essex. This hands-on role covers purchase ledger, supplier payments, reconciliations and month-end support, ideal for someone with a solid accounting background.

The candidate may be qualified, part-qualified or studying towards CIMA/ACCA, with strong Excel skills and a good grasp of general accounting procedures. Experience with Dynamics NAV is a plus.

Qualifications

• Qualified, part-qualified or studying towards a recognised accountancy qualification (CIMA/ACCA or equivalent).
• Solid Excel skills and strong understanding of general accounting procedures.
• Experience with purchase ledgers, reconciliations and month-end processes.
• High attention to detail and accuracy with financial data.
• Knowledge of Dynamics NAV is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase invoices and manage supplier approvals.
• Set up new suppliers and handle supplier queries.
• Process supplier payments and monitor timelines.
• Manage purchase requests and issue purchase orders.
• Perform AP reconciliations and assist with month-end tasks.
• Support customer management and sales analysis as needed.
• Assist wider Finance team with month-end and reporting.

We’re looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team based Takeley, Essex

This is a hands-on accounting role covering purchase ledger, supplier payments, reconciliations and month-end support, so we’re looking for someone with a genuine accounting background who is qualified, part-qualified or actively studying towards a recognised accountancy qualification such as CIMA or ACCA.

What you’ll be doing

• Processing purchase invoices and managing supplier approvals
• Setting up new suppliers and dealing with supplier queries
• Processing supplier payments
• Managing purchase requests and issuing purchase orders
• Carrying out Accounts Payable reconciliations
• Supporting customer management and sales analysis
• Processing month-end accruals and prepayments
• Supporting the wider Finance team when required

What we’re looking for

• Be qualified, part-qualified or studying towards CIMA, ACCA or another recognised accountancy qualification
• Have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Understand general accounting procedures
• Be comfortable working with purchase ledgers, reconciliations and month-end processes
• Have strong attention to detail and be confident working with financial data
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV would be advantageous, but isn’t essential

Monday–Thursday: 08:30–17:00

Friday: 08:30–14:30
