Job summary

Company details and job overview:

Kenton Black Finance is currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant on behalf of a business based in the Altrincham area. This organisation is a specialist in its industry, with a team that has extensive, sector-leading experience. The role is full-time and permanent, with 'school' hours considered. You will be able to work from home 4 days a week, possibly more.

Your new role as the Accounts Assistant includes:

  1. Processing and paying invoices promptly
  2. Supplier reconciliations
  3. Checking and updating ledger balances
  4. Managing emails and responding accordingly (accounts inbox)
  5. Scanning, filing, and logging account documents
  6. Updating accounting systems
  7. Checking bank statements daily and updating trackers/ledgers
  8. Entering supplier invoices accurately onto the tracker
  9. Processing payments through our Third-Party Supplier
  10. Reviewing the VAT sheet from the Third-Party Supplier to ensure all invoices are included before submission
  11. Assisting with audits and meeting deadlines
  12. Reconciling bank statements
  13. Handling day-to-day queries
  14. Supporting administrative tasks such as Risk Assessments, DBAs, and Write Offs
  15. Client reconciliations
  16. Processing client payments
  17. Raising client bills

Qualifications, Experience & Skills required:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role within a high-volume transactional environment
  • Knowledge of sales and purchase ledgers
  • Ability to work independently within deadlines
  • Collaborative approach, willing to support colleagues
  • Strong relationship-building skills with suppliers and clients
  • Proficiency in IT, especially Excel
  • Attention to detail and strong work ethic
  • Accurate data entry skills
  • AAT qualification or similar (desirable)
