Job summary

Eaton Syalon Ltd is seeking an Accounts Assistant for a Burton-on-Trent client. The role is office-based and provides exposure across banking, sales and purchase ledgers, plus credit control. You will learn and take on responsibility within the wider finance function.

The ideal candidate has grounding in finance, strong attention to detail, and a proactive approach. There is potential to progress through month-end tasks while studying towards AAT.

Qualifications

• Grounding in finance with exposure to accounts or transactional roles.
• Strong numerical skills and high attention to detail.
• Proactive and keen to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day banking activities.
• Process and allocate customer receipts and supplier payments.
• Complete bank reconciliations and investigate differences.
• Support sales ledger, raise invoices and maintain customer accounts.
• Assist with credit control and follow up on balances.
• Build relationships with customers to resolve queries.
• Process purchase invoices with correct coding and authorisation.
• Reconcile supplier statements and investigate discrepancies.
• Support month-end activities and assist finance team.
• Collaborate with colleagues to resolve finance queries.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and ways of working.
