Job description

Summary
Job purpose is to support the Purchase and Sales Ledger teams in processing invoices and collecting cash and to support the Management Accounts team in preparation of reports and results.

Wage
£15,704 a year

Starting salary will increase when each module and exam is completed successfully

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You'll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

Key Duties:

  • To support the Sales Ledger team in ensuring that all invoices are raised and processed in the appropriate week / month
  • To support the Sales Ledger team in ensuring cash is collected on time
  • To support the Purchase Ledger team in processing stock and non stock invoices
  • Statement Reconciliations
  • Replying to supplier queries received in the central mailbox (Purchase Ledger)
  • Support the Management Accounts team in the preparation of the weekly and monthly Management Accounts
  • To ensure that all delivery notes are electronically mapped to stock receipts in ERP system
This is not an exhaustive list of duties and in order to achieve total flexibility within the department you may be required from time to time to undertake any other request as required by management.

What you'll learn
Course contents
  • Record transactional data.
  • Use the organisation's standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
  • Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
  • Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
  • Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
  • Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

Your training plan

Apprentices will be required to attend college at least x1 day per week either at Uxbridge, Harrow or Hayes Campus completing necessary mandatory training and units associated with the apprenticeship.

The apprentice will be required to complete:
  • Work towards gaining a full Qualification
  • Employment Rights and Responsibilities
  • Skills, Knowledge, and Behaviours
  • Standard and End Point Assessment
  • Functional Skills in English, maths, and ICT (if required)
Other training will be provided by the employer as required to enable the fulfilment of the job role.
