Role: Accounts Assistant

Salary: Up to £27,000

Location: Sheffield, S9

Hours: 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday (fully office based)

We are currently recruiting for a successful solicitors' firm based in the S9 area of Sheffield. Our client is looking to expand their team with an experienced Accounts Assistant who will support the Finance Manager with day-to-day responsibilities within the finance department. If you’re looking to join a stable business where you can settle in for the long term, this could be the role for you!

Main duties/responsibilities:

  • Legal Aid billing
  • Approving Conveyancing Completion Statements
  • Approving payments on Clients Account
  • Posting transactions
  • Posting invoices – both sent to clients and received from suppliers
  • Bank reconciliations (occasionally)
  • Credit control, including implementing a diary system to improve current processes
  • Ensuring compliance with SRA Accounts Rules, AML policy, and other firm-wide policies
  • Supporting the Finance Manager with ad hoc responsibilities

You will have:

  • Experience in an Accounts / Finance Assistant role is essential
  • Experience within the legal sector is desirable but not essential
  • A highly motivated self-starter with excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Good IT and administrative skills are essential
