Sharp Consultancy are proud to be working with a dynamic and expanding business based in Rotherham.

Following an impressive period of growth over the last year and with more development on the horizon, this business continues to expand, leading to the enhancement of its finance team. As part of their continued development, they are now looking to recruit a dedicated and detail-focused accounts professional to strengthen their finance function.

As part of their next stage of development, they are seeking an experienced and reliable Accounts Assistant to take ownership of varying financial functions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and wants to be part of a supportive and ambitious team.

As an Accounts Assistant, you will support the finance team across a variety of key functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and month-end support. You will play an integral part in maintaining accurate financial records and contributing to the smooth operation of the finance department during this exciting phase of growth.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with solid transactional finance experience who is looking to take on varied responsibility and progress within a successful, acquisition-driven business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing purchase and sales invoices accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Performing supplier statement reconciliations and handling queries.

  • Chasing outstanding customer payments.

  • Managing bank reconciliations and assisting with cash flow monitoring.

  • Supporting the integration of finance processes from newly acquired businesses.

  • Maintaining up-to-date records on accounting systems.

  • Providing general administrative support to the finance team during busy periods.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a similar finance or accounts assistant role.

  • Strong understanding of transactional finance.

  • Confident with Microsoft Excel (e.g., lookups, basic formulas) and Sage – advantageous not essential.

  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.

  • Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication skills with a proactive and collaborative approach.

  • A willingness to learn.
