Job summary

TÜV Rheinland Group in the United Kingdom seeks a detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our Finance Team. You will manage day-to-day ledger activities, support invoices, and provide financial guidance to internal and external stakeholders while upholding accuracy and customer service standards.

The role requires a solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, a good level of Excel proficiency, and team-oriented collaboration to meet deadlines in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

  • AAT qualification (or equivalent) or a minimum of two years' experience in a similar accounting/finance role.
  • Good understanding of double-entry bookkeeping.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and meet deadlines.
  • Customer-focused approach with good communication skills.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Managing Finance mailboxes and responding to queries in a timely manner.
  • Processing high volumes of invoices onto the invoice register.
  • Checking invoices for errors, investigating discrepancies, and returning incorrect invoices to suppliers where necessary.
  • Maintaining positive and professional relationships with suppliers and customers.
  • Chasing outstanding debts with full support from the Accounts Receivable (AR) team.
  • Following up with internal stakeholders to ensure invoices are entered into the system in a timely manner.
  • Reconciling supplier statements and investigating any discrepancies.
  • Processing self-billing and PAYE invoices.
  • Supporting the Payments Team during periods of annual leave and other absences.
  • Supporting the Senior Accountant and finance team with ad hoc duties as required.

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Assistant Accountant to join our friendly and supportive Finance Team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day ledger activities and will provide financial support and guidance, delivering a professional and customer-focused service to both internal and external stakeholders.
