Accounts Assistant
£24,570 to £27,000 plus great benefits (Work Level 6C)
Manchester city centre (hybrid working)

We’re looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our Retail Finance team in Manchester and help to manage our supplier accounts. In this role you’ll work in a hybrid way – splitting your time between home and the office (find out more about our hybrid working policy at https://jobs.coop.co.uk/hybrid-working-policy).

As an Accounts Assistant at Co-op, you’ll make sure large-scale contracts are invoiced and accounted for correctly and in-line with GSCOP regulations. We’ll also look to you to support with the management of our internal budget and action day-to-day account reconciliations.

What you’ll do

  • Work with our suppliers to make sure large-scale contracts are invoiced and accounted for correctly
  • Investigate, solve and re-invoice any invoice disputes and carry out supplier rebate collection
  • Reconcile accounts and provide accurate commentary alongside these
  • Explore financial data and reports to identify any potential issues
  • Make sure invoiced figures are in line with forecasted figures

This role would suit people who have

  • Invoicing experience or experience in a similar role (e.g. Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Finance Assistant etc)
  • Good Microsoft Excel skills (e.g. VLOOKUPS, pivot tables, index matching etc)
  • Good communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and challenge people inclusively
  • A desire to study towards a finance qualification
