Accounts Assistant
Location: Liverpool, Merseyside
Salary: 28K - 30K

We are working with a leading UK business in the environmental services sector. Our client is the UK's foremost supplier of premium cooking oils and a major collector of used cooking oil and food waste. They are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their Finance team in Liverpool. This is a fantastic opportunity for a finance professional who is either qualified by experience or working towards an ACCA, CIMA, or AAT qualification.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of weekly management accounts with KPIs and supporting information
• Preparation of monthly management accounts
• Variance analysis: weekly vs monthly vs budget
• Bank and cash reconciliations
• Weekly/monthly payroll analysis and journals
• Accruals and prepayments
• Balance sheet reconciliations and variance investigation
• Support in annual budgets and forecasts
• Internal audits to strengthen site controls
• Assistance with year-end audits and auditors
• Supporting information for monthly tax computations

Experience & Skills Required

• Qualified by experience or studying ACCA, CIMA, or AAT
• Proven experience in a similar role, independently managing monthly accounts
• Strong IT skills, particularly Excel
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• High attention to detail and accuracy
