About the opportunity
An innovative property and hospitality company is seeking an Accounts Assistant to support their financial operations. This established business operates premium residential assets and has built a reputation for delivering exceptional living experiences in prime London locations.
What makes the role exceptional
You'll work directly with the Group Financial Accountant, gaining invaluable exposure to all aspects of property finance from tenant invoicing to year-end reporting. This isn't a typical accounts role - you'll be involved in strategic meetings, work with cutting-edge property management software, and have direct input into forecasting and business planning. The company's entrepreneurial culture means your ideas will be heard and implemented.
Key responsibilities
* Process rental invoices for 77 rooms plus 4 duplex units using Xero accounting software
* Manage rental deposit administration through Deposit Protection Scheme systems
* Handle supplier invoice processing and budget allocation coding
* Analyse data across multiple property management platforms (Res Harmonics, Momence, Eventbrite, Class Pass)
* Support month-end reporting including management accounts and cash flow analysis
* Assist with VAT return preparation and year-end audit processes
* Attend strategic project meetings and liaise with legal and tax advisors
* Produce monthly forecasting reports and partner profit calculations
Requirements
* Proven experience using Xero accounting software
* Background in real estate transactions preferred
* Property management software experience advantageous
* Previous exposure to small business or start-up environments
* Strong interest in finance and accounting progression
* Logical, analytical mindset with attention to detail
* Self-motivated team player with professional approach
* Excellent communication skills for cross-department collaboration
