Accounts Assistant

Salary: Up to £27k

Due to continued company growth, our team is expanding, and we are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our busy Finance Team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our Accounts Receivables team, including owning credit control activities such as monitoring customer accounts, following up on outstanding payments, and helping to manage credit limits. You will also be responsible for raising disputes related to shortage claims. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

Below is a summary of Core Responsibilities & Key Skills:

Responsibilities:

· Investigate and manage shortage claim disputes

· Handle customer queries, disputes, and debit notes

· Record and allocate daily debtor receipts

· Reconcile customer statements and review aged debt

· Monitor and manage customer credit limits and accounts

· Assist with daily sales invoicing and month-end processes

· Ability to work with finance systems and customer portals

· Monitoring the Accounts mailbox

· Set up new customer accounts

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams

· Build and maintain strong customer relationships

Skills:

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy

· Analytical and problem-solving abilities

· Ability to analyse data and spot discrepancies

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Handling multiple tasks efficiently

· Experience with SAGE 50 Accounts is an advantage

Working Pattern:

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Hybrid role with 3 days in the office

Office based in Tattenhall, Cheshire, CH3 9HW
