Our client is a rapidly growing commercial construction business based in Braintree, seeking a motivated, ambitious, and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join their small Finance Team. The role is highly varied across the finance landscape, including assisting the Finance Manager with the preparation of monthly management accounts, processing invoices, bank reconciliations, and supporting year-end processes. Additional responsibilities include CIS payroll, working with external suppliers, and ensuring smooth and robust finance processes.
Ideally, you will have some previous experience in a similar role, preferably within construction, but this is not essential. You may be qualified by experience or hold certifications such as AAT. Strong Excel skills are essential, with some experience in accounting software like Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks. Prior bookkeeping experience, especially with month-end and year-end processes, is important. You should be able to work independently and as part of a team. Personality-wise, you will be a driven and ambitious individual eager to advance your career.
